Meeting the Challenge: Reinventing Museum Retailing
Wednesday 3 December 2008 | Wellcome Collection | London
Join over 100 of your museum and heritage retail colleagues at this year's eagerly awaited international heritage retail conference.
Much has been done over the last ten years to transform museum retailing, but this conference will argue that new opportunities exist and the pace of change and development has to increase.
Keynote: Ruth Shapiro - Director of Business Development for Retail, Museum of Modern Art, New York
This year the focus will be on how museums and heritage organisations can reinvent their retail offer and how retailing is now one of the key components of a successful museum. The conference will concentrate on the importance of retail in three ways: How it can extend the brand of the museum; How it can add value to the visitor experience; and how it can maximise revenue and contribute financially to the institution.
The conference will bring together some of the biggest names in museum and heritage retailing for an intensive one-day event. There will be the ample opportunity to question each of the contributors and audience involvement and participation is welcomed. The conference also provides the perfect opportunity to network and discuss ideas with speakers and fellow delegates throughout the day while enjoying the first-class facilities at the Wellcome Collection, London.
